Where on our planet live the fattest people?

To the question “Where do the fattest people live?”, Most of us will answer: “Of course, in the USA!”. And they will be wrong! The United States is no longer the leader in the obesity rankings - they are only second. Today, the first place among the countries with the most complete citizens is Mexico.

Where on our planet live the fattest people? The UN report, The Daily Mail, cites the following figures: about 70% of Mexicans are overweight, and one third of the entire nation has already been diagnosed with obesity. All this leads to a decrease in the overall level of health of the inhabitants of this North American state: heart disease, kidney, liver, hypertension, diabetes.

According to doctors, the excess weight of Mexicans is not only due to sedentary work, but is also inextricably linked with their favorite dishes of their national cuisine: taco (tortilla) corn tortillas with various fatty fillings; tamales with meat; snack quesadilla, also prepared from cakes with a variety of cheese and meat filling.

Obesity, experts say, is more common among low-income people, as well as among young people who prefer fast food and do not play sports.

So, a dozen leaders in the "competition" for the most complete nation is as follows:

  1. Mexico

  2. USA

  3. Syria

  4. Venezuela, Libya

  5. Trinidad and Tobago

  6. Iraq

  7. Argentina

  8. Turkey

  9. Chile

  10. Czech Republic

Russia (where, according to some data, every fourth inhabitant is overweight) shares 19th place with Great Britain.

In total, on the planet, according to WHO estimates, 350 million people are affected by obesity.
