Dmitry Livanov may become involved in the criminal case of fraud

Today it became known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs resumed the investigation of misuse of budget funds at the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys. The corresponding criminal case, which former leaders of MISiS: Dmitry Livanov (now the Minister of Education), Natalia Tretyak (Deputy Minister of Education) and Yuri Karabasov (ex-deputy of the State Duma), can now become defendants four years ago, and then ... disappeared .

The initiator of the search for the missing case was Vladimir Burmatov. The deputy's request was not ignored, the answer about the resumption of the criminal case was received from the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Major-General of Justice Yuri Fedorovich Alekseev.

Dmitry Livanov may become involved in a criminal case of fraudHowever, where and under what circumstances the case was found, or if anyone was responsible for his loss, - not a word was said in the letter, said deputy Burmatov to the Kommersant newspaper.

The case, initiated under the article "Fraud" in September 2009, concerned the theft of funds during the reconstruction after the fire of the educational-laboratory building of the university, located on Leninsky Prospekt, 6.

The fire in a five-story building with a total area of about 1.5 thousand square meters. m built the last century occurred in February 1993. The upper part of the body: the fourth and fifth floors, and the attic, are completely burned out.

The restoration of the building lasted 12 years. As the investigation found out, during 2004 and 2005, the institute management transferred budget funds (a total of 57 million rubles) to the accounts of various contracting organizations that carried out repairs. Since tenders (mandatory in such cases) were not actually held, and organizations “had signs of fictitiousness,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs considered such actions by the management of MISiS to be illegal.

Yury Karabasov, who held the post of university rector in those years, could not submit a full report on the spending of budget funds, but he called all charges “absolutely unfounded”.

Now deputy Burmatov insists on checking involvement in the embezzlement of the head of the Ministry of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, who was then pro-rector of MISiS, and his deputy Natalia Tretyak, who worked in those years as the first pro-rector of the university.
