A new dedicated band may appear in the center of Moscow. And the old will open on weekends

In the very center of Moscow, a dedicated lane for buses and trolleybuses may appear on the Garden Ring. A representative of the capital’s transport department told RIA Novosti the other day, stressing that this decision would be made on the basis of modeling and analysis of traffic flows.

In total, according to the official, in the next three years more than 300 kilometers of special lanes are planned to open in Moscow.

A new dedicated band may appear in the center of Moscow. And the old will open on weekendsNew dedicated lanes after the completion of the reconstruction of highways will be introduced on Leninsky Prospekt, Leningradsky, Volgogradsky, Ryazansky and Kashirsky highways.

Recall that the decision to introduce the selected lanes in the capital, adopted in the summer of 2011, immediately caused an avalanche of disputes and complaints.

Drivers were outraged by the narrowing of the space of movement, the experts predicted (and these predictions were completely justified!) A huge increase in traffic jams.

Going to meet motorists, from March 31, the mayor of the capital decided to “open” the designated lanes for the movement of personal vehicles on weekends and public holidays.

However, as Victor Travin, president of the Moscow board of legal protection of car owners, said, traffic jams on the roads of Moscow “is a problem of exclusively working days”, and therefore this solution will most likely be useless.

According to the Interfax news agency, some time ago there were also proposals to introduce the designated lanes on the routes located near Moscow.

However, experts (and among them - the deputy head of the traffic police department for the Moscow Region Ministry of Defense Dmitry Stolyarov) note that the implementation of these ideas, increasing the load on the road network, can lead the Moscow region to a "transport collapse."
